I’m a Korean pianist and have been playing the piano since an early age. Under the influence of my mom who was a Jazz pianist, I have been surrounded by music since I was born. I learned classical music as my mom hoped that I’d learn something different from Jazz but I still play a little bit of Jazz as well. 😉
I majored in Education and completed a certificate course of teaching piano by Korean Education Evaluation Institution. I taught piano in Sydney Australia working for a music school and had several private lessons. I have experiences teaching AMEB, the Australian version of ABRSM. I am able to play and teach every kind of piano music from the very classics such as Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin and the 20th classical music such as Debussy and Rachmaninoff. I love listening to music, talking about it and about the musicians.
I’d like to quote one of my favourite pianists, Artur Schnabel saying “The notes I handle no better than many pianists. But the pauses between the notes – ah, that is where the art resides.” I believe even silence is a part of music. From the minute you sit on the piano chair, your journey to music starts!
